This temple also functions as a place of worship of the goddess who lives in Lake Beratan, the Goddess Laksmi which is the goddess of fertility and beauty. In addition, the existence of Lake Beratan as a source of water for agricultural irrigation for the surrounding area makes it get the status as Khayangan Jagat Temple or a general temple where Hindus worship from across regions, groups, and professions.
